With the Floods of 2009 in Mind we find ourselves coming into that time of the year again.
Our capital was declared to be in a state of emergency in the last 24hours as record breaking amounts of rain fell on the east coast of our country. Met Eireann have said the rainfall total so far this month rose to 157mm, which is four times more than for the whole of October last year.
We have all read the news and seen videos and pictures of the damage and devastation that can be caused by flooding.
Whether you are a Home or Business owner, none of us can control the weather. If there is heavy rainfall flooding is always a threat.
Things to look out for:
- Have you been affected by flooding before?
- Are you in a high flood risk area?
- Are you insured adequately for flood damage?
